Only Me...

Last week, I noticed something didn't smell right...

And I noticed a rash...

Without going into the nasty details, my c-section incision was in fact--Infected.

So my doctor prescribed Augmentin for me on Thursday so I could go ahead and start taking it that day since she couldn't see me until Friday.

Friday, she did a little mini-procedure in her office, I think to remove a suture that had come undone and was causing the problem.

They also did a wound culture, to test the bacteria.

Today the nurse called.

Whatever monster bacteria this was in my incision was not phased in the least bit by Augmentin.

So I had to take Thomas out in the Hurricane Ida remnants today (where Lakeshore Parkway by Jemison Park was COMPLETELY flooded. I've never seen that creek look like such a raging river), to go back to my doctor to get some uber antibiotic shot in my butt.

Hopefully that will do the trick.

Thank you, bacteria in my incision. It's been a lovely ride, now please go away.

This Weekend

We had a great weekend here! Friday night we ordered pizza and watched tv, and Saturday morning, Thomas let us sleep till around nine (that was after his 5am wake-up, of course). Saturday we just did some stuff around the house. BT did some yard work, and we tried to get on top of cleaning the house. Saturday night we watched a movie, "I love you, Man," which was REALLY funny. I find we have watched more movies in the past few months than we have in the entire time we've been together. I guess that's to be expected :) Another good one we watched recently is 'Away we Go.' It was excellent.

Saturday night was not a good night for T. He slept alot on Saturday, and we sort of just let him (we can blame it on football on tv and us wanting to fit in an afternoon nap). He did a lot of this on Saturday:

So he was up more than usual Saturday night. But it still just wasn't that bad.

Sunday we had a visitor! Amber made the day trip over from Georgia to visit and meet Thomas. It was SO good to see her as always. We ate lunch, visited, and then she went back home. I wish she lived closer :-( Amber, sorry, I did not realize I cut off your head in this picture!

Anyway, another perk of the weekend: Sunday morning BT cleaned downstairs and then let me go to the store by myself! It was so nice to get out on my own, plus it totally helped that it was such a nice day. On the way home I had the sunroof open, the windows down, and turned the stereo up to 'motorcycle driveby' by third eye blind. It was a nice moment for me. Then last night he took Thomas upstairs to hang out with him in the man room while I watched 'desperate housewives' and 'brothers & sisters.' I have a good one, I have to say. Here's my favorite picture of the weekend, and might be my favorite picture I have ever taken of BT.

These days, my cup definitely runneth over....

Nothing Worse than Bad BBQ

Today, BT asked what I wanted for lunch.

"A good plate of bar-be-que," I said.

Shouldn't be hard to find. Especially since the original Golden Rule is just down the street from us.

Think again. That place is so hit-or-miss, it's unbelievable. Two times ago, it was delicious, except their potato salad was chopped instead of cubed, and had a weird flavor to it. Last time, the potato salad was different, and the meal was great. This time, the pork plate I got had sliced pork instead of pulled (since when is that the default option on a pork plate), and they were back to the weird potato salad, and had also added dill seasoning to it. Also, they had vinegar or something in their baked beans.

Dear Golden Rule: quick yanking my chain.

Driving

Today is the two week mark: two weeks since the c-section, two weeks that we have had Thomas, two weeks of family, friends, and lots of changes for us, but most especially, for our poor puppy dog. Beau is handling things well, but he still is adjusting to this new being in our house. Sometimes he looks at us in the middle of the night, when Thomas starts to cry, and rolls over and groans, like, 'what on EARTH have you people brought in here?'

But, since it was the two week mark, I got to pull the old girl out of the garage and take her for a drive. BT and I left this morning at 7:30 to head down to the health department to get our swine flu shot, and then, once that was done, came back home to say goodbye to my mother-in-law (she was headed back to montgomery after two welcome weeks of help), gather T, and take him on a morning out. We went to my work to visit folks for a while, then went over to Jemison Park to enjoy the nice day and take a walk. After that, he slept peacefully while I grabbed some Chick-fil-A, and made a quick bank run. He and I even fit in a fantastic afternoon nap together just like I love too.

Here are a couple more pictures from Halloween and just some fun cute pics.

Picture Art

I like to call this, "Progression of a Poopie Diaper."
