A Whole Lotta Dough

I will do his job for only one million, and they would be getting someone just as mean for a steal of a deal. I'm just saying, I really think FOX should think it over...

Busy Weekend Ahead

Tonight we are installing the wireless router, and BT is going to continue sanding down the furniture for the nursery. He just got a new sander he's very excited about using, and I, in turn, was very excited about the wireless router. Tomorrow we (or more like he, and I am along for the ride) are helping friends Marc & Carrie move into their new house, and I am going to do some birthday shopping for two adorable little one year old boys. We have one birthday pool party for Jack tomorrow, and sadly I don't think I'm going to be able to make the trip to A'ville for Drake's on Sunday, but luckily Amber is bringing Corbin and Drake over to B'ham for the fun tomorrow, so I'll just have to celebrate Drake's then! I am looking forwad to it! I'm not really looking forward to sitting out in the heat when I'm not ABOUT to get into a bathing suit right now (i don't even have a maternity suit anyway), but the company will be worth it.

Sunday should be another busy day with family, then next thing you know, it's time for another week! Hope yours is just as good!

Until next time...a 23 week belly shot...

Some Random Things...

1 - The basil died.

2 - We figured out the plants lining our sidewalk are Hostas. See the description HERE.

3 - I'm thinking of getting a subscription to Good Housekeeping. I read it on the plane back from Baltimore and really liked it, even though I feel like it would make me seriously uncool. But do I actually care?

4 - I feel like I am continuing to expand, and I'm not a huge fan of that, but apparently they keep telling me that's what's supposed to happen.

5 - We are redoing the furniture for the baby's room, and it's going to look really good when finished. I'll have to post some before/after pics when all is said and done.

6 - Headed out to the country today for work with the boss. Nice to be out of the office. Not so nice to be out in the heat....

Just Like Christmas Morning

What do you get in a family full of boys? A LOAD of hand-me-downs! This is load #1 from BT's sister in Memphis that his dad brought through today. The boxes are full of clothes, etc. We are SO thankful for the wonderful stuff!

Why I Love Storycorps

It's friday morning. I am in a rush. All morning long, I think of everything I need to get done before I am able to start this weekend. Fridays are always like that: a part of you is so happy it's Friday; the other part is just a little stressed. And like every woman I know, my brain is working on overdrive. 'We need to go to the store...I need to clean....what time do I need to leave in the morning to get the dog to the vet....and on..and on...'

The cars BUZZ by on 20/59, and it gets even worse the closer I get to 65. Slam on brakes, speed up, change lanes, think, think, think.

And then it happens.

Every Friday morning, at 7:25am, just as I am merging onto 65 South, I hear the Storycorps music on NPR--and I STOP and LISTEN. It makes me stop and listen, and reflect, and think. But this time it's thinking about things that matter. And it sort of centers me in a way I need, especially on a Friday morning. It reminds me, in short, that humanity is all around me...

I can't believe it but we came to an agreement on bedding we both really liked for the nursery. i did not want a themed nursery, and I'm still insistent that this meets those qualifications, even though it is stupid with cute monkeys! we love the color combination, and who doesn't love a fun monkey? but please, refrain from thinking this is a theme. i just know how it can get and suddenly we would be swimming in sock monkeys and curious george stuff, etc. just consider this decorating with a monkey :) You can see it HERE.

The one thing I wouldn't mind finding for the room monkey-related is the decorative piece of the 'hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil.' just because i think that would be so fantastic in a nursery.

That way the colors in the nursery will be black, chocolate brown, khaki, and green, which i think will look really good. At first we weren't going to paint the room, but now we think we may paint it a khaki color.

Of course all this is dependent on me changing my mind a thousand more times.

Great Way to Spend a Saturday

One of the many reasons I love Birmingham is because this is ten minutes from our front door:

We went to Lake Purdy on Saturday, which actually IS only ten minutes from our house, and rented a pontoon boat so some could do some fishing, some could do some sunbathing, and others (me) could do some relaxing while reading PEOPLE magazine and drinking Powerade. It was fantastic. The fish were biting, even if they were just small little brim, and everyone had a great time. There were six of us on the big boat, and Kristen and Adam on the smaller john-boat. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again. Here are a few pics from our day.

It's a Boy!

We went this morning to find out the sex of the baby. At first he wouldn't cooperate. He had his legs crossed, but after a little while, he decided not to be shy anymore! Anyway, we're having a boy! She got some fairly decent pictures, but he was moving around a ton and making it pretty difficult. BT is really excited, and so am I!
