S*T*E*A*L

Like I said earlier, we spent later yesterday afternoon with BT's parents, and while we were out, happened into Haverty's Furniture. His parents are looking for a few things, and we are also on the hunt for a few items proving very elusive (ie: a new couch that is both affordable, durable for pets and kids, and not ugly). We have also been on the lookout for a kitchen cart/island that is more than a flimsy piece of furniture, but not a full blown island. I wanted something, though, that looks good and coordinates with the buffet on the other side of the kitchen. That piece is black and has butcher block as the top. We've looked all over the place, and everything was either cheap and poorly made, or too expensive. Enter Haverty's!

We were walking around the store yesterday when we came across a kitchen cart. I saw it and said, "that's perfect! too bad it'll be more than what we want to spend." ALAS.

It was originally $500, reduced on sale to $300, and 50% off on top of that! So our total cost was $150. We bought it on the spot and picked it up today! I'm so excited for it because not only does it give us tons of new storage underneath, but it also includes a marble cutting block and a spice cabinet on the side, in addition to the two other cabinets and two drawers. It also has a drop down leaf to use too. It's very exciting! My goal is to get as many fun pieces of furniture in this kitchen to distract from the hideous blue countertops that I hate (but we just can't justify replacing them yet because although they're ugly, they were brand new when we bought the house).
