Weekend

It's been a crazy busy few days over here. Last week was a whirlwind at work because we had a very special guest on Friday. Paula Deen came to deliver about forty thousand pounds of food to us on behalf of Smithfield Hams and the UFCW. It was a great event, but we worked and worked and worked to get ready for it. My favorite part? Getting to meet the Queen of Butter!!!

I hate I looked so exhausted in this picture, but that's what working my tail off all week will do, I guess!

Saturday morning, we went to the local Pepper Place Farmer's Market. It's a FANTASTIC market, complete with cooking demonstrations, live music, wine tastings, and multiple farming and local food vendors. We took a 10 out of the ATM, and for ten dollars, we got a bushel of green onions, a basket of squash, a basket of zuchinis, and a bushel of green beans. We had it all for dinner tonight in a local veggie extravaganza, and it was delicious. Thomas took it all in like usual and was perfect the whole time. These are pictures I took on my phone before heading out to the market. He's looking like such a 'boy' these days.

Then, today we went over to visit with Elizabeth, Charles, and Luci. They are in town from Mobile because Elizabeth is working up here this week doing some work with the Health Department. Luci is so cute and adorable, as always, and it was fun catching up with E & C. My favorite part of the afternoon was watching how much Luci has grown. It's so cute, when she does something she is proud of she says, "Good job, Luci." It's precious. We weren't quite successful getting a picture of Luci and Thomas together. We got one, but they aren't exactly looking at the camera :) I love the pictures of Elizabeth and Thomas together.

Hope you had a great weekend!
