it's baby time!

well, i originally had an ultrasound and appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning, until i got a phone call from my doctor this morning. she asked if i might be willing to come in today for her to check me instead of in the morning. she said she has a slew of babies due this week and was trying to plan out what needed to happen with all of them for her to be able to deliver as many as possible. so i said sure.

i went in today at 1:00, and she checked me. i still was not dilated at all, and she said his head had not even begun the descent. she then felt all over my abdomen and decided i needed an ultrasound. she really wanted to check the size, because based on my zero progression and what she was feeling, she worried he was too big to fit through. believe me, this has been an ongoing conversation with doctors there for about the past three months.

the ultrasound seemed to confirm her thoughts. it estimates him weighing 9 pounds 4 ounces, with a head measurement in the 98th percentile. that equals big baby that might not fit. in addition, with me being group b strep positive, she didn't want to risk any infection if he were to get stuck, etc. or risk having to perform an emergency c-section.

all that said, our c-section is scheduled for 12:15 tomorrow! BT and I are looking forward to one last evening just the two of us. we're going to go out to dinner and enjoy our dog and cat, watch some tv, and try to relax. i can't say i'm going to get much sleep, but i'm going to try.
